There is a critical and urgent need in Texas. SAT scores are unacceptably low and many high school seniors are unable to pass their basic graduation exams. Spurred by these facts, the Austin CEO Foundation began believing that empowering parents with the right to choose the best schools for their children might be the best solution. They believed that the program would level the educational playing field for children. Austin CEO Foundation is not alone. Nationwide, similar organizations are springing to life. The results are encouraging. These children are succeeding because they are in schools that have a firm educational mission, teach strong values, focus on results, and partner with parents and guardians who are deeply involved in their children's education. As a result, their prospects for the future are radically improved.
